Career building at Construction Day 2018

Mead students recently explored careers in the building trades, participating in Construction Day 2018 on October 11th. Under supervision, the students operated heavy equipment at the county fairgrounds, where they also talked with industry representatives about futures in construction. Kayak Trip

On 9/12, students enjoyed a paddle trip down the beautiful Little Spokane River with the City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department. Paddlers began at St. George's and floated to the confluence of the Spokane River. To see photos, click twice on Kayak Trip above.

From "Hamilton" to "Hansen"!

Last spring, MEAD Alternative had a memorable time at the play "Hamilton," truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This winter (January 24th), they will have the opportunity to attend "Dear Evan Hansen."

Serve Spokane

This fall, students at MEAD took part in several local community-outreach projects outdoors. Our tradition of involvement continues as we participate in programs such as Growing Neighbors! Through the Growing Neighbors project, students plant food and then allow our Spokane neighbors to enjoy the produce! Mead School District Mobile App Now Available

The Mead School District has its own smartphone application. This app includes multiple functionalities and provides news, notifications, content from the Mead district website and social channels, as well as school-specific updates and content. Windstorm Make-Up Days 2015

Mead schools were closed for three days during the recent windstorm weather event. Make-up days for two of the three days will be Friday, March 11 and Friday, June 17. Both of those days are designated in the 2015-2016 Mead School District Calendar as "make-up" days. Read more . . .
