A Day on the Mountain

For an end of Autumn adventure, students hiked up to Bald Knob on snowshoes. The Wednesday challenge in Mt. Spokane State Park was completed by six stalwarts and their two advisors! For another photo, click on the headline twice.

Ceramics and Construction Added to Curriculum

Two new afternoon courses have been added to the M.E.A.D. course offerings. Ceramics and Construction are both hands-on classes. Students will be exploring 3D art through clay and building a tiny home for use by children at the Five Mile Prairie School. For an additional photo, click twice on the headline. Fall Camp Fosters Teamwork and Service

MEAD students enjoyed camp during the last few days of October. Thirty-three students helped prep the UGM retreat site for winter and enjoyed team-building activities together there, including a ropes course, a square dance, and a craft activity.

Career building at Construction Day 2018

Mead students recently explored careers in the building trades, participating in Construction Day 2018 on October 11th. Under supervision, the students operated heavy equipment at the county fairgrounds, where they also talked with industry representatives about futures in construction. Kayak Trip

On 9/12, students enjoyed a paddle trip down the beautiful Little Spokane River with the City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department. Paddlers began at St. George's and floated to the confluence of the Spokane River. To see photos, click twice on Kayak Trip above.
